Forget Me Not is a dynamic cocktail bar and lounge nestled in Houston’s Washington Ave corridor, blending Southern comfort food with a nightlife vibe that attracts both day and night crowds. The space feels more like a lively urban lounge than a traditional restaurant, where music, cocktails, and hookah come together to create a multifaceted social spot.

Visitors often come for the weekend brunches, which have garnered attention for pairing a DJ-driven soundtrack with creative cocktails like mimosa carafes and unique concoctions such as the Pink Drink. The vibe during these daytime hours leans into a vibrant, social experience that balances upbeat energy with casual, sit-down dining. Service can be a bit relaxed, suggesting that brunch here is best enjoyed without rushing, soaking in the music and ambiance.

Food-wise, the menu confidently mixes rich Southern-inspired dishes with classic lounge fare. Standouts shared by locals include the Forget Me Not Southern Fried Chicken, shrimp and grits, and Cajun Crawfish Egg Rolls—items that bring a hearty, comforting element to what might otherwise be a nightspot focused mostly on cocktails. Smaller bites like truffle fries and spinach dip also encourage sharing and mingling around the tables. For those transitioning into evening, the cocktail list offers traditional favorites like Lemon Drops and Martinis alongside more inventive options, all reasonably priced for the area.

The atmosphere is marked by a carefully curated playlist that sets the tone but can sometimes feel a touch loud for guests who prefer quieter conversations, especially during brunch. The décor blends modern lounge aesthetics with some Southern warmth, making it feel stylish but approachable. Hookah service adds another layer of social interaction, drawing a crowd that enjoys extended stays well into the night.

Forget Me Not appeals most to people looking to combine good food with a pulse on Houston’s spirited nightlife scene—perfect for groups celebrating weekends, fans of Southern cuisine with a twist, and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted drink paired with livelier surroundings. Early afternoons on weekends, especially Sunday brunch, seem the best times to experience what this spot does well: mixing great music, a relaxed yet lively crowd, and a menu that satisfies from appetizers to entrees.

Located conveniently on Washington Ave, it fits seamlessly in a stretch known for nightlife and dining, serving as both a daytime gathering place and a go-to nighttime lounge for locals and visitors alike.

What a fantastic brunch experience from an out of towner! DJ was playing all the right music and food was surprisingly really good! Drinks were extremely cheap for Houston ($15 for a mimosa carafe). They also have hookah and mimosa towers. Don’t leave Houston on a Sunday and I’m glad I didn’t! Service was very slow but she was nice and we weren’t in a rush. I’d definitely be back! RESERVATION IS A MUST! Atleast a week in advance!

you want someone to take care of you with great food and drinks, Bakr is your guy! I came in with brunch on my mind and ended up staying through happy hour. I started with the peach mimosa craft, then had the jerk lamb chops with potatoes and scrambled eggs so good. After that, I enjoyed some hookah and two Hennessy Old Fashioneds. When I tell you I left feeling amazing, I mean it. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon right after my flight landed, and it was the perfect welcome. Highly recommend!

Came here twice for brunch. Once for a birthday party of 12-14; we were seated by the DJ booth and had a TIMEEEEEE. We got there by 12 and were able to experience the day party(reservation recommended) Then I took my mom and little sister here while they were in town and they LOVED IT, no reservation we just walked in. (Call before to see if it’s busy) My only complaint is the music.. why is it so LOUD especially before 1pm. It’d be nice to talk without raising my voice or saying “huh” more than 3x. Thank y’all for the great experience, great food and customer service. I’ll be back.

Very cute inside, waitress was very nice. Food came out fast, almost too fast, it was a little suspicious. But it was good. The music was way too loud and did not match the people in there trying to fellowship and talk with the people they were with.

Our waitress Dee was super attentive. She came back several times to make sure we were good or needed anything. The music is really good and the vibes were unmatched. The food was also great. Def a good place to come with your girls! Make sure yall get them blueberry lemon drops!

The music is LOUD!!! …but it was a vibe. DJ was really doing his thing I don’t drink alcohol, so I can’t speak on the cocktails. The chicken & sausage gumbo was good. The grilled chicken pasta was also good. The ice cream that came with my bread pudding tasted like freezer ice. I’d like to have seen my server one more time instead of having to ask another server for my cheque. The prices are decent. They have hookah. I will likely return soon.
